Configuration Guide for the TL-WA5210G (Client Mode)

Configuration Guide for the TL-WA5210G (Client Mode)

We return to manuals and tutorials Wifi Cave. Let's see how to configure the wireless outdoor CPE TP-Link TL-WA5210G Client mode, ie do you get wifi signal from another network to connect.

To begin, we must ensure that we have the TL-WA5210G properly connected to a PC or laptop. We take an ethernet cable and connect one end to the CPE TP-Link and the other in the POE RJ45 feeder. Connect another Ethernet cable from the LAN jack up our card feeder network. Finally, plug the adapter into the light.

To enter setup we have to type in a browser the TL-WA5210G Ip: 192.168.1.254.

Normally routers to connect us has the IP 192.168.1.1, therefore we have to change the IP of TL-WA5210G. We put the 192.168.2.254 as shown in the following image.

When done, wait a few seconds to apply the changes. Then we have to enter the new IP address in the browser: 192.168.2.254. The first step would be Basic Settings:

Click on Next.

Put the AP Client Router:

Click on Next. Here we choose Dynamic IP.

Click on Next. Here we give the name that comes by default. We will change later.

Click on Next. Will get a screen indicating that the process is complete.

If the page is not refreshed press the Finish button. Now we go to Wireless -> Basic Settings and put the country concerned.

Then hit Save. In paragraph Wireless -> Wireless Mode Survey click on to see the available networks.

We connect by clicking Connect.

In Wireless -> Security Setting put the network password.

Then hit Save. If all went well, we will see that we have assigned an IP WAN.

If you liked, helped or both tweet or share it on Facebook !

Update: If you have 2 TL-WA5210G teams can create a point to point link. For that we have to put a team in AP mode and the other as a client as described in this manual.

    Hello, Jose:

Ideally, use 2 TL-WA5210G for remote links (in sight). Anyway, it is not always necessary and often enough with one receiving team.

    Greetings! ;)

  2. region is not also in the country where I want to know if Paraguay firmware update can fix Thanks

  5. Hello. Congratulations on the manual.

I bought a WA5210G to connect as a client to a wifi router for my brother who lives in the apartment next door.

    I have a curious problem:

NOT connected to the router but it is next to a 50db signal.

But if you reset the router to my brother (transmitter) and then reset the AP connects WA5210G.

If after one minute to reset the AP back WA5210G no longer connects.

Therefore, only works when my brother and I rebooted the router, then reset my AP.

I tried it with more than one router and the problem persists.

    Thanks

  6. p to q if I am connecting has password is the one I put in the path of wireless security you provided?

    Indeed, JCBL. Greetings! ;)

  8. Hello dear! I just set this up successfully to receive the signal of a Linksys WRT320N router, but I have only Internet on the computer that is connected directly to the Linksys team, let me know if more clients can be connected wirelessly. Greetings!

    Hello, Issaac:

It depends on how you have configured and how you have put. How is the installation?

    Greetings! ;)

I did all the steps to configure it as a client, as the manual says but I do not give any information on the wan, may be going ...

  11. LaCuevaWifi 16. April, 2012 at 9:46

    Hi, Luis:

    There are several possible reasons:

    1. - That the network you want to connect has DHCP disabled. Then, assign a WAN manually.
    2. - You get enough signal network that interests you.
    3. - That the network has some sort of MAC filtering and reject your connection.

    Greetings! ;)

  12. Hi, I have a repeater Tp-Link TL-WA5210G and omnidirectional antenna TP-LINK TL-ANT2415D,, I configured the repeater and it works perfectly, but I installed the antenna and sends the same signal, there is a separate configuration for antenna ? I would like to know how to put it to work

  13. As explained in the manual for this repeater mode

You can not change the password or new network name.

    A greeting.

  14. Hi all

I have a TPLINK WA5210G and works excellent, very reliable and stable. Now I want to add to TPLINK that my router in client mode to connect to other computers through the TPLINK. any tutorials that I can recommend.

    Hello, Gerardo:

We have several configuration manuals published but what is the model of router you have?

Anyway, if you prefer putting the TL-WA5210G Universal Repeater mode, check the links at the end of the tutorial.

    Greetings!

  16. I'm not clear where on Wireless -> Security Setting is set the network password. could you tell me specifically where I put the password in the network to which I'll link?? thanks

  17. LaCuevaWifi 30. April, 2012 at 9:54

Nicod999, if you select the type of WEP encryption, the key write in paragraphs key1, key2, key3 or key4.

  18. Good afternoon, I can get espereo doubts. I made an arrangement with 6 cpe as issuers, 1-3-5-7-9 and 11 channels. I have them configured as AP. the problem is that some teams receptors (tp link 7200 for example) are not connected, and the selection of wireless networks, are full signal. There is another place a client as a receiver cpe (ap client router), see the signal to 67%, but does not connect, it fails to capture the ip of the issuer, show me some flaw? I've tried several configurations and nothing. Thanks for your attention.

  19. LaCuevaWifi 02. May, 2012 at 9:57

    Hello, Calatayud:

The problem is almost certainly interference between different AP. Each channel uses frequencies specified, but devices to transmit those channels also use part of the nearby channel frequencies. For example, a device using channel 5 also occupy part of Channel 4 and 6. You can see it clearer if you use inSSIDer as a graph that shows the use of the channels and the amount of actual signal.

    Greetings! ;)

    I served! Thank you!

  21. I have a telus modem link-client-ap-ap-repeater hub are arranged so
    the first p
    ip 192.168.10.20
    gateway 192.168.10.1

    customer
    192.168.10.21
    gateway 192.168.10.1

    hub

    ap
    192.168.1.22
    gateway 192.168.1.1

    omni repeater
    192.168.10.124
    gateway 192.168.10.1

my problem is that it does not automatically or battle ip range change greatly if all the gateway to 192.168.1.254 192.168.1.x nothing happens? esque not for serving the gateway, they can put all devices same IP as gateway or that should go in the one I want gateway or modem in infinitum?

  22. LaCuevaWifi 21. May, 2012 at 10:22

Adrian, remember that with the TL-WA5210G everything has to be on the same subnet (192.168.10.x), I see you have an AP at 192.168.1.22. The Gateway can be the same for all, the ADSL modem infinitum for you. Salu2!

  23. I managed to connect with the cpe however I have disabled dhcp, what I want is to use the dhcp not because I do not work if someone could tell me how to configure it, otherwise I have a router tl-wr841dn and want to connect it directly to the CPE and repeat signal in my house but I could not.

Use this configuration on my machine when not using DHCP and internet works for me:
    ip: 192.168.1.116
    mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.254
    dns: 192.168.1.254
    WINS: 192.168.1.254

using dhcp cpe is in this configuration that takes my machine:
    ip: 192.168.1.1
    mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.254
    dhcp server: 192.168.1.253 (CPE IP)
    dns: 192.168.1.254
    Secondary DNS: 192.168.1.253
    WINS: 192.168.1.254

Onsite puts secondary dns default 192.168.1.254 I can not change it, to do this as 10 seconds says I have internet connection but does not open any page in that span.

finally I have this configuration on the CPE:
    Adrees Start IP: 192.168.1.1
    End IP Address: 192.168.1.252
    Address Lease Time: 120
    default gateway: 192.168.1.254
    defaul domain: "I have nothing"
    Primary DNS: 192.168.1.254
Secondary DNS: "I have nothing but making no value in my machine is 192.168.1.253 CPE IP"

I hope I can help thanks

  24. Hi! I have the following question .. Once you finish configuring the AP in client mode, disconnect the UTP cable to the PC and then connect the AP where customer? current only?
    Thank you!

  25. LaCuevaWifi 28. May, 2012 at 9:39

pabloCGO, the error you have is that you are not relying on the IP address of the modem router that outputs the Internet network to which you connect the TL-WA5210G. Surely that IP is 192.168.1.1 and DHCP put in almost the entire range of IP creates a conflict on the network and you do not have internet. Specifies a DHCP lease range shorter, for example: 192.168.1.50 - 192.168.1.200.

Regarding the secondary DNS should not be equal to the primary ever as a server is to be used in case the primary DNS does not work or is inactive.

Melina, the AP client receives and forwards Wifi ethernet cable. I have to have a PC connected to a switch or router to access. If what you really want is to forward Wifi signal, configure it as

    Greetings!

  26. I have a network with WEP encryption key with a few times I put the key in every key?

  27. LaCuevaWifi 29. May, 2012 at 9:19

Jaime, you only have to put in the Key1 and leave this option selected. Salu2!

  28. Hi I have an antenna TL-WA5210G, an opportunity I could install without problems, but now I want to install and charge the browser when the IP 192.168.1.254 is not giving me anything. Because of reseterla probe, turn off the pc, changing cables and stuff. Not to do, appreciate your help, thanks.

  30. Hi I have an antenna TL-WA5210G, I wonder if you can use Beini for a password, as it should be configured

  31. Pedro Gutierrez 10. June, 2012 at 11:10

Hello my neighbor wants to share internet with me, I could connect to the TP-LINK with and through His WA5210G UTP cable connected to a Neutral WIFI router to have internet in my house.
    Thank you.

  32. LaCuevaWifi 11. June, 2012 at 10:07

Pedro Gutierrez, the TL-WA5210G you better for what you need. Client mode configuration would be suitable for you. ;)

Eduardo, Beini single card can be used with no wifi access points.

    Salu2!

  33. Mmm then this team can not be used with or Beini wifiway, is I want to get key networks that are located 1.5km away because where I'm not connected to the internet line of the company, and I can only get internet right through wifi.

  34. LaCuevaWifi 20. June, 2012 at 9:36

Again, access points and CPE are not compatible with Beini, BACKTRACK or similar. Only network cards Wi-Fi.

  35. Hi capo, a while ago I have configured an antenna TP-LINK WA5210G in client mode and it has worked spectacularly.

now I have to set up another antenna TP-LINK WA5210G, I do the same as I did before and when you want to connect to the internet I fail. The antenna will not work?

all any help you can give me, since you and I'm thanking the

I have configured in client mode, looking for any sign of wi-fi connectivity achieved, but when surfing the internet I can not

  36. LaCuevaWifi 21. June, 2012 at 12:02

    Hey, Paul:

It is probably a configuration problem IP address, make sure you are assigning to the TL-WA5210G a valid address for the network you are trying to connect, and that address is not already in use. In addition, the gateway or gateway must be the IP address of the router-modem gives you internet access.

    Greetings! ;)

  37. Good evening, I'm from Venezuela, Edo. Vargas, I have a problem, you connect an antenna TP-LINK 15 dBi to TL-WA5210G and its setting there is an option to install an external antenna, which I imagine to be activarsela to work in 360 º and it turns out when you active this option, I get less signal around when not placed the external antenna option, please if you can help me, I thank

  38. LaCuevaWifi 22. June, 2012 at 10:50

    Hello Argenis:

The external antenna option causes part of the power is transmitted to the antenna connected to the output of the TL-WA5210G RSMA. The amount depends on the antenna signal that are using through that connector.

    Salu2!

  39. Hi, I need help with my antenna settings WA5210G TP-Link. My situation is this: my neighbor is sharing its Internet and home with me and is a bit removed from the mine use TP-Link Antenna WA5210G. I have it configured in client mode and I'm using a router in access point mode to have wifi at home. I works but the problem is that I can browse from Windows but not allow me to connect from my phone that has wifi or Linux. Could you help me? I'd appreciate it.

  40. LaCuevaWifi 29. June, 2012 at 9:22

Wolf, if not let you connect to the wireless network with the phone, the problem is in the indoor access point you have installed.

If the problem is that you connect and does not give you access to the Internet, the problem is in the IP settings, if your model allows it uses a static IP (manually assigned).

    Greetings! ;)

  41. Good again and thanks for answering. The problem is not only with the cell if not with Linux, because if I navigate Windows and Linux nor cellular? One person told me I had to have the DHCP ensendido in the antenna, when I noticed I could enable the cell and connect from Linux but could not navigate. Then someone told me where was to be ensendido DHCP on the router was not in the antenna because the router's neighbor who was assigned directions. Which is correct? Where should the DHCP ensendido in TP-Link antenna or router? Remember I am taking the Internet from neighboring antenna TP-Link WA5210G and distributing it with a router access point. Thank you very much for your time.

  42. LaCuevaWifi 17. Jul, 2012 at 10:15

Wolf, in a given network ideally there is only one DHCP server, it is best to be the main router but not required. On the other hand, and as I mentioned earlier, you can always fix the problem quickly and easily using static IP addresses. Greetings! ;)

  43. Hello, there is a wifi signal tine not always key because automatically connects the notebook and I want to connect to that signal with my desktop PC with an antenna TP-Link WA5210G, follow the manual steps I connect to the signal wifi but I get 0 signal. Thanks and I hope your help

  44. LaCuevaWifi 19. July, 2012 at 8:13

Bruno, the distance to the network? have obstacles between where you place the TL-WA5210G and the area from which the signal? Greetings

  45. compadre ... I know I have a problem which you indicate your all but still can not connect ... ojalas can help me .. at the time set with dynamic ip status tells me getting Internet settings and there is that will? I hope your answer many bye

  46. Happens to me as well as to Carlos

  47. LaCuevaWifi 24. July, 2012 at 8:29

Bruno and Carlos, how far is the network that you prefer? How much signal you receive? Do you have direct view? Hinders? All this affects the quality of the link, which would ideally sight between the TL-WA5210G and a point where there is a signal of that network. If not, no connection can be ensured.

On the other hand, other users solved the problem using static IP addresses (assigned manually). To automatically obtain an IP address outside the network must have enabled the DHCP service.

    Salu2! ;)
